There's AE1 (Jack is his name, if I recall correctly, named after a guy who said he would die and come back as an orca with a bent dorsal)

I have a couple others - I can scan them for you later. =)

There is at least one transient with a completely bent fin, possibly two, but I don't remember for certain. One northern resident has a bent dorsal due to a wounding (possibly a bite from another orca). I think there were three Northern Residents total last time I counted, all males.

Orca observed in Hawaii:

I know at least one was photographed in Iceland - I don't know if the image is still up. (Was on oceanfutures.com)

Another bent dorsal - my guess is that this one's a transient, possibly the one I was thinking about.

Oh! And how can I forget Ben? (NZ101) His dorsal fin was split into two after a boat strike and the back half is folded over. I have a picture of him somewhere too.

These Alaskan orcas had bent dorsals: AB2, AB3, AE1, AN1.

AB2 died in 1994. AB3 died in 1996. AE1 is Jack, the one that Kim posted. He should still be alive. AN1 died in 1996.

I'll try and get scans of their photos if you'd like them.

Here are some photos of Ben, I think.

T145 was the transient with the bent dorsal. He was sighted from 1987-1989. T80 has a split on the top of his dorsal fin, and the top edges curl.

Of the northern residents, H4 has a dorsal fin the curls to the right at the top (looks like some sort of injury). G33 (who may be dead) looks like the top of his dorsal was either curved or damaged. Hard to see in the photo.

This is one of the orcas from the AB pod that Amanda mentioned. I'm not sure who it is, but my guess is AB3. This pod had a high number of dorsal fin deformities, and also a high mortality rate, following the Exxon Valdez oil spill. They were observed swimming through the oil.

AD2, of the AD5 pod, dorsal fin recently completely fell over.

And I believe this is Flapfin.

I believe there is a member of the B clan in the PNW whose name and number elude me (I lost my catalogues in a move, *cry*) and his dorsal fin is bent at almost a 90 degree angle.

Nonsense! I could be arguing in my spare time.

That is one awesome looking dorsal fin.
Do you know what the average is for the Russians? Are they any bigger overall or just the dorsal fin?

Russian Far East killer whale males averaged 6,4m, females averaged 6.0 m. Max body leight is 9,4m for males and 8,2m for females. Unfortunately there's no data on dorsals or I just can't find it.

P.S. There's an interesting paper on average difference between populations, so if you're interested in that data I recommend you to read this http://www.bioone.org/archive/1545-1542/88/1/pdf/i1545-1542-88-1-43.pdf
