Italian Dolphinaria

Are there any Dolphinariums in Italy? I may be going next April (yay!) and I *just* may stop by if there are some!

There are a couple I think. One in Rimini... um, Riccione, and a place called Gardaland. I think there are several, but I don't know where really.

I think you can also see dolphins on whale watches. =)

Oh...well, Gardaland has had several very recent cases of animal abuse, one of may have even caused the death of one of their dolphins, Violetta, just a few years ago.

Yep... their tank is awful, too... it's sooooo small. There's some good pictures in "The Rose-Tinted Menagerie".

They must have gotten a new one, then! The book/pictures I had said it was one of the smallest dolphin tanks in the world.

It is a new tank. But I have that book with those pics in and it was the smallest dolphin tank in Europe when the book was written, wasn't that old tank etc bought from circus Knie when they stopped doing travelling dolphin shows?
